ABOUT US

Jessica Fourie | Owner | Physiotherapist

Well known as The Arthritis Physio, Jessica covers clients mainly with arthritis, complex injuries and auto-immune conditions but also has over 17 years of experience in musculoskeletal conditions, aged care, injury prevention, education and sport. She is a passionate, experienced practitioner that offers a holistic, natural-based approach to wellness and loves to make her clients feel empowered by knowledge and self direction.

Born from a vision to bring like-minded practitioners together, The Arthritis Physio was rebranded in 2019 to Health in Motion Limited. Located in the quaint, rural township of Te Kowhai, Hamilton, Health in Motion's founder Jessica Fourie, believed that this unique health hub needed to be a special place for wellness.

When not in the clinic, Jessica is found either in the kitchen, or the outdoors enjoying everything from tennis to camping with her family.

Nicola Gonzalez | Physiotherapist

Nicola graduated Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor Health Science Physiotherapy. She has experience in both hospital and private practice musculoskeletal. She is passionate about helping her clients work through their injuries and achieve their goals, allowing them to live healthy active lifestyles. Outside of work Nicola enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, football, and outdoors activities like hiking and camping.

Emma Henderson | Naturopath

After struggling with her own personal health concerns Emma completed her Bachelor of Natural Medicine, this qualification in Naturopathy, Nutrition and Herbal Medicine gave her the skills and knowledge to work with clients with a holistic, supportive and nourishing view.  However, after her daughter suffered a brain injury, she found she needed further understanding of how the brain impacts all aspects of health.  Leading to the world of Neurodevelopmental retraining.

Emma now uses both modalities along with her own experience of navigating her daughter’s health to create client centred treatment plans.

Michelle Lowe | Neuro Development Partner

As a primary and secondary trained and registered teacher, Michelle has a strong background in education and an in-depth understanding of child development.  During her teaching career she became increasingly concerned with the rising number of students presenting with behavioral and academic learning difficulties.  Her classroom teaching experience allowed her to explore the positive effects that movement concepts and motor skill development have on learning and cognition.

With an interest in neurology and neuroplasticity, she wanted to find a different, holistic approach that would really get to the bottom of what was going on for these children and why traditional educational interventions were not effective at helping with their struggles.

Gayle Davies | Administrator

Gayle is our delightful and welcoming administrator and has a passion for anything related to health and wellness. Everyone that walks through the clinic doors knows that they're in the right place thanks to Gayle's warmth and sincerity.
